Material play is a collaborative project born from the interest of practitioners Francesca Perona and Mona Choo in smart materials and computational technologies. Mona and Francesca met in October 2012. Their collaborative practice explores the intersection of art, design, craft and computation. Merging their unique sets of skills, they developed an experimental approach incorporating print making techniques, electronic circuitry, textiles, smart materials and programming for arts&design projects.
Our project include embedding electronic components in home-made paper, making paper-based capacitive sensors and controlling IR sensors with your proximity. Each of our projects is documented and shared online.
